Herat Baloch Runner
This vintage runner was handwoven by Baloch tribal women in the Herat region of northern Afghanistan during the 1970s. Rich in character and history, the rug features a series of central medallions and angular motifs, framed by multiple tribal borders in deep reds, indigo blues, and black, colors derived from traditional natural dyes.
Woven from hand-spun, silky-soft wool, this piled rug has a luxurious texture and a subtle luster that brings depth to its intricate pattern. Its elongated 4 by 12 ft format makes it ideal as a hall runner or statement piece in longer transitional spaces.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
Our carpets are made to be lived with, not just looked at. But like any heirloom, they thrive with care.
- Shake, don’t scrub. For regular upkeep, gently shake or vacuum your carpet to lift out dust and dirt. Avoid using a beater brush.
- Spot clean with love. If there's a spill, blot gently with a clean cloth. Use mild detergent and cold water, no harsh chemicals.
- Rotate occasionally. Turning your carpet every few months helps it wear evenly, especially in high-traffic areas.
- Let it breathe. Wool loves air. Every now and then, let your carpet soak in sunlight and fresh air, just not too long to avoid fading.
- Professional help for deep cleaning. Once in a while, a gentle hand wash or expert cleaning will restore its natural glow.
These carpets are built with resilience, just like the people who’ve woven them for generations. Treat them kindly, and they’ll walk with you for years to come.
